I guess it's official: winter is here!

First Snowfall

I knew it would be coming soon.

Most of the leaves have fallen from the trees now, and there is a sharper bite to the air.

 

As the row of pots can attest, I was not ready for it to come this soon.

Although, according to last year's timetable, it's right on time.

 

Couldn't come soon enough for these two.

One bonus of having a slope: it makes a fairly decent sledding hill, provided you miss the apple tree at the bottom.

 

[It has since been rained away. We have a short reprieve.]

[I solemnly swear to get all of my pots and hoses inside the shed ASAP!]

Snow came!

We hadn't finished our winterizing chores yet. EEK!

Everything was covered up....for a day or two at least.

The Great Bulb Countdown 2012

10/26: Bulb order came yesterday!! From: www.vanengelen.com

They all looked great and smelled so good when I opened the box. Now to get them in the ground ASAP, as we had our first snowfall today. Didn't stick, but it's only a matter of time.  Go, go, go!

Thought it might be helpful to start keeping track. Also, to help myself remember where I've put things!

10/31: Today's weather was gorgeous! I planted most of them on Saturday, in the cold drizzly rain, but today was sunny and in the 50's. I just had on a sweatshirt.
